New Ulm Public Utilities Commission is accepting applications for the position of Accountant. This position performs professional accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and internal control functions for the City and Public Utilities Commission. Responsibilities include payroll administration, financial reporting, audit preparation, account reconciliations, budget support, and supervision of Finance Office staff.
The successful candidate will have strong accounting, organizational, and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate financial records.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Two years of accounting experience is preferred. Experience with governmental accounting, municipal payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting is highly desirable. A valid driver's license is required.
